Hi Jack..all your ideas are very good. Forgiveness is critical. Moving on past the disappointment is key. You've got your whole life in front of you, make it a good one. Whatever area of your life was disappointing.. work on this area replacing the disappointments with successes..develop a plan to succeed researching the successes of others in that area.. learning from other's successes is a powerful success tool. And sure praying your steps in life is key.. and following your heart on what you feel is right will make you happy. All the best to you and your family.

Don't focus on the thoughts that come up. It will just reinforce then. Taking up a form of meditation can be helpful in taming runaway thoughts.

It just takes time.Good luck.

Write them down or talk about them with a close friend or counselor. Than try to move on, get busy. It's probably not as easy as I make it sound....sorry.

Talking it out with a supportive friend, counselor, etc., relaxation & breathing techniques, prayer, diverting thoughts-make up a silly version of the thought that's bothering you (that's what I do), music, a good movie, walking for exercise.

a counsellor can help you profoundly. i try to remember that i learned something from all the bad that has happened to me, i am stronger for it, and it does not control who i am as a person.

In the USA we have shrinks who charge hundreds an hour to listen. But no one believes them "cause they're gettig paid to say what ever it is they say. Other countries have "confidantes", who hang out with their friends and listen. Everybody believes them 'cause they're friends. Shrinks seldom work, friends do.

forgetting it through hypnosis, forgiveness and creating new memories

you pretty much answered your own question...talking about them does make them a bit easier...think about the good things...pondering over the bad things can eat you up emotionally

you can only mask the ploblems

computer.

i have found that the best way for me to overcome my disturbing problems is to talk about them. I don't mean telling people necessarily if you don't want to tell other people then write it down. It is kind of like letting it go. If you write it down and you are paranoid about some one reading what you write then dispose of it.
