I stopped taking zoloft cold turkey, and now i'm freaking out. should i star!

Question: i've been on zoloft at an increasingly higher dosage for months, and at 150 mg now. over winter break i forgot to take it for a few days, and when i realized it decided i might as well not bother to take it any more since i had already missed a couple of doses. but it's been about 8-10 days now and i've started to get really panicky, anxious, and irritable. should i just start taking the 150 mg dose again?

You need to call your prescribing physician and/or psychologist. You need to talk to them about this - that's a pretty high dosage to mess around with. Tell them that you forgot to take it for a few days and then just stopped altogether. You'll probably be just fine - but you don't want to experience rebound effects from not taking it (i'm not sure if zoloft is known for that...but who knows!). Seriously, call them/page them/something...if you absolutely can't find them call your pharmacist!

You should never stop taking Zoloft cold turkey. You should start taking it again, bc those are the symptoms of what happens if you stop taking it. If you are going to stop taking Zoloft, you should talk to your doctor first. So yes, you should start taking it again.

you should start taking it again. that is a high amount and you just stopped taking it. i would take just in case to get your body used to the medication again about 75mg's the first week and then after the first week go back to taking 150mg's per day. but definitely you should start taking it again. you only stopped taking it for a week so its really not that bad.

NOT TILL YOU TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR

You're experiencing withdrawal symptoms and if you really want to wean yourself off properly you should start with smaller doses. To do this effectively you should contact the doctor who prescribed this.
How you handle your anxiety now makes a big difference to how you handle this emotion without drugs. Try and keep a mental note of all your feelings and if it gets too unbearable then slowly re-introduce the zoloft.
