Wht do I do about this (cutting)?!

Question: I was stupid today, and cut myself. I dont think I'm depressed, just stressed, and I've never cut before. This is too gnarly of a cut to say the cat did it though, an I dont want her in trouble anyways. The real question is, what do I do? I do -not- want to tell my parents, I start shaking at the thought of them finding out. (I might need some disinfectant, too, but that's in their room closet for some reason, they are asleep now)

I know the feeling...the keeping parents out if it feeling, not the cutting feeling...although there was that time...Nevermind, just clean up. Use alcohol, peroxide, even vodka if you have to, to clean the cut. Then make sure it stops bleeding. Wrapping the area tightly with a cloth would help clot the blood and seal the wound. If it's on an exposed area, there might be no hiding it, if it isn't you can try. I don't suggest trying to hide it unless it's no more than a scratch, but you'd know better than me.

As to an explanation...maybe you accidentally did it? maybe you were running with scissors, or tripped holding a knife? Be rational though, unless the explanation is 123.62% believable, no one will believe it. Also, hiding an accidental wound proves it wasn't an accident.

Oh, and if it's bleeding very badly, wake them up and go the the hospital before you bleed to death. I think they'll realize you cut yourself when then find you pale and lifeless on the blood-soaked carpet. And then, you won't have the chance to explain what happened, you'll be dead.

just take care of the cut, clean it up good. just try to keep safe & fight any urges when it comes to cutting. it isn't easy. put something funny on tv &/or listen to something relaxing for the night & let your thoughts go off & try thinking positive. i have a video on SI if your interested, & for parents to see. tho the url wont work here. let me know thru messg. hang in there hon!

never do it again.
as for your parents, just ask them to let you use it for a catscratch that you did get.

DON'T DO IT AGAIN.

I've been there. Not a good feeling when the world decides to find out. Trust me, don't do it.

did you enjoy/get relief from cutting? are you gonna do it again? where did you cut yourself? if its on your arm or leg or somewhere like that, just wear long clothes until it heals. go to the bathroom and wash it with soap and water and cover it and when you can get the antiseptic, put that on. i am a cutter and in NO WAY promote it, i think you should NEVER do it again, because it can be really hard to stop.

Alcohol (meths) works, or ANTISEPTIC: don't use disinfectant! See self harm, in section 16, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and contact them, when you feel the need to cut. Shyness is addressed in section 9: One solution is to go somewhere that nobody knows you, and deliberately make an utter fool of yourself: put on a paper hat, and scream out: "I'm queen/king of America!", or something else ridiculous, then get back in the taxi, (warn the driver of your intentions, first) or car, and leave. People will point, and say: "Look at that idiot". But, you're probably not up to the stage where you can do that, yet (I can, and I used to be shy). Regard it as your final test: once you have accomplished it, the barrier will be broken; just don't go too far, the other way! Learn to laugh at yourself, and give a big, cheesy grin when others see you do something foolish, as we all do, occasionally. It will endear others to you, if you don't do it too often. See shyness, and self confidence, in sections 9, and 38. See stress treatments, at *ezy-build, below on page 42. Practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i; whichever works best for you, but the mindfulness breathing for 15 - 20 mns is ideal, although the progressive muscle relaxation can be learned quickly, and takes only several minutes, if pressed for time. Employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you massage/tap your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o refer. "Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, I deeply and completely accept myself". You can also multitask, using the gazing technique, as you walk/jog or exercise, by focusing on a distant object, noting any thoughts which flash across your mind, without pursuing any particular train of thought, just gently redirect your focus to the gazing. Yoga, or Tai Chi may suit others, better. Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily, replacing 2 of them with cod liver oil supplements, or a teaspoonful of the oil (I spread mine on toast, and mask its strong taste with fishpaste, and pepper), in the winter months only, and eat healthily, in accordance with your "nutritional type" as determined at http://www.mercola.com/ SEARCHBAR. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris*

wash it with soap and water. and as far as the cutting goes, sounds like you may have freaked your self out enought that you will think twice about next time. i use to cut myself in high school, when life was getting stressful. it made me feel like i was in control. i out grew it, but i out grew it with alot of scars that i still have today. if you need to talk find someone you can talk about , find other way to handle stress. i wish someone would have helped me when i was younger. good luck and keep your cut clean.

omgosh why u do that to ur self!
go to church
get help

say something like you cut your arm while walking by the kichen or something
