Lexapro and dry sinuses?!
Question: I've been on Lexapro for only about 24 hours, now. So far, the only symptom I experienced, aside from feeling loopy, was a LOT of sinus congestion. I woke up in the middle of the night unable to breathe with a dry but not very stuffy nose, and a dry throat. I had to borrow my mom's humidifier at 3:30 a.m. because it was so awful.
Is this typical of Lexapro or could it be to blame on a cold or sinus infection? If Lexapro is the culprit, I'm going to look into a different medicine. If this symptom is because of Lexapro, will other SSRIs make me feel this way too?

I wish I could give you more of a definite answer, but I, too, have been having major congestion issues since I've been on Lexapro. I've been on for about 2 months now and have been consistently congested, but I don't know whether it's been tied to the medication.
I have seen congestion as a side effect on a few sites.
The only thing that's done a great job of clearing me up was the target brand of extended release sudafed, but that also made me extremely groggy and my heart rate was extremely fast. I haven't taken it again because I'd rather be congested.
I've been on several SSRIs and none, that I can remember, have ever give me congestion, but they also didn't work for treatment, either.
Good luck.
