What can we do?!

Question: I think it's shocking that so many young teens are asking for help with suicidal thoughts, cutting, bi-polar illness, ocd, anxiety, depression, and drugs. I answer some of their questions as best I can, and I know some of you do too. The question is what can we as a group do to help these kids and inform their parents that they need help?

Unfortunetly unless someone they have told, friends etc, come to the persons parents and tell them about it, there isnt much to do. You could try to get a myspace link and check their top friends, those ones are usually the relatives or school friends. But unfortunetly unless their parents check their emails there isnt alot to do for them. (i am only 14 so you know and would also like to help alot of the people who suffer from suicidal thoughts and so on) and i dont plan on doing any of that any time soon so dont worry. I hope you can get the teens the help they need! :)

I do as much as I can to help. I'm a counsellor, and I work in mental health. It is so common these days for young people to suffer with the issues you have listed. It makes me feel sad that so many people suffer.

I was sexually abused as a teenager. I suffered depression, I self-harmed, and I abused drugs and alcohol. I know from experience how hard it can be to cope with life, and in the teenage years it is harder than ever.

All we can do is be there, and be ready when someone needs help. A good support system is everything.

you cant do any more its life let it run it course i know it sounds harsh but i know from experience that not every1 want to be helped only people who ask for help truly need it

I guess the best thing to do, keep re-assuring these kids that things will get better. Not to give up.

Prayer is very powerful, I wished more people would see that.

These kids need to realize that their is a huge world around them, that they are not the only ones living in it.

To look at the bright side of everything. If they can separate themselves enough to realize, they will make it through.

Keep up the good advise guy's.
