Is there anyone out there that has an eating disorder? My niece needs your help.!
Question: My neice is always thinking about how many calories does the food she is eating have. She looks it up on the box or tries to find out thru the internet She then sneaks into a closed, locked room and execises. (Running in place or doing crunches) She said she is willing to e-mail/im anyone that is going thru this like her or has gone thru it. Can you help please?

I used to suffer from bullimia. Eating disorders are serious. It sounds like she may develop one soon. actually, what she is doing has a name. It escapes my mind at the moment. Take her to the doctor and have the doctor check her wait and explain that she is a great weight. And allow her to eat healthier food choices. Not cruddy plain food, just reduced fat. And make sure she doesnt over do it on the exercising. Let her exercise a little with you though. That should help. I wish her the best of luck.
my friend had an eating disorder for a few years and she's taking to a psychiatrist and she's taking prozac she seems much happier now and is recovering..anti-depressants help with eating disorders.
you need to go and get her help now before she ends up doing something drastic
If she doesn't have one now, she's well on her way. Get her checked out & into some treatment pronto, before it blooms & completely takes over her life. I was bulimic for a number of years, & still have occasional falls off the wagon, even after all this time. It's a tough thing, but there is help available. Learning that you are more than your body is so powerful!!! Good luck!

I just got out of treatment 2 months ago for anorexia I have a leaking heart valve and osteoporsis as a result of my eating that I have had for 15 yrs I am 30 now it is dangerous so get help now here is not the place you need to contact a dr. actually I would recommend a inpatient rehab it sounds scary but if you just go to therpy some where you have the ability to come home and not eat. you just need to get out of the enviroment for a while if she is a minor then her gardian can sign the paper with out her consent. it is very dangerous there are many helath consenquenes.
