How do you develop "stick to it tive ness"?!

Question: My mother always tells me that my biggest problem is that I don't stay with a lot of things I start. And it's true. I can start a project- anything- and leave it behind. I fail to get a lot of things done this way.

And I want to be persistent in many things so I can accomplish my new year's resolutions. I feel like I'm already slipping and falling back into bad habits.

Set a goal for yourself. Say when I complete this project I get to get a new Cd or some other reward. Reward yourself, set boundries. Tell yourself "I can not star X until I finish Z. That helped me.

Learn to chose your projects. Don't accept every chore and just say no thanks. If it takes a long time to do it then schedule the work for regular time periods that are short. Have a definite reason to not complete a task if you said okay at first.

Thats me in a nut shell!

just a suggestion but: get tested for ADHD.

people don't believe in it bc too many ppl abuse the diagnosis to get meds for reasons other than help.

I have it and I take the medicine and it has rejuvenated my sense of motivation, my grades jumped a whole GPA point and Ive become editor of the paper and am finally able to complete projects that Im passionate about. My mind is under control and my thinkomg patterns are on a more straight line and I no longer get distracted as easily. Also the medicine makes you happier mainly bc you are albe to accomplish things not just in school but in real life also. hope that helps.
