How can i stop being deppressed?!


Question: i really need to stop being so depressed because i feel like im letting everyone down and i feel that my life is a boared game it only goes to the mall colledge and my home and my hard job. i cant seem to break free where i live is so gloomy i have to get out EVERY day im so sad and want to go to sleep and not wake up and i always say life is so hard espeacilly when my bestfriend just died which was my dog 3 monthes ago

I can speak from experience. I went through pretty much the exact same thing you went through.

I suggest going to a psyciatrist, it helped me out so much. Just start talking to someone about your problems, it helps so much.

Start exercising, because that releases endorphines. Eat right, it'll help you feel good about yourself.

Get out more, socialize with people, that way you won't feel so confined.

get professional help. Depression is dangerous. Talk to your parents and work on it.

I know it's hard but you have to look at the brightside of life, there's alot more unfortunate people out there. Like the saying goes, its better to light a candle then fight the darkness.

anti-depressants?...sometimes we can't control our brain chemistry ourselves..so medication can help with everyday functioning..it'll put you in a better mood and get you motivated...you can also try st. john's wort or 5-HTP they're over the counter supplements that might work for depression.

aaah, been there done that. am doing that still. go to a therapist, get on zoloft :)

books do not work. its a frickin brain disorder.

write in a journal, exercise.

Call people on the phone. you dont have to tell them your upset but laughter definitely helps and people you love definitely have that power. If not this than try to get some healthy hobbies where you can interact with new people and experience you situations and allow yourself to grow mentally and come to new understandings in life. I know it might be hard but put down the sad music and listen to some fun stuff I'd suggest Girl Talk hes an amazing spirit raising DJ or if ur more into the happy rock try The Polyphonic Spree. I saw them live and they literally saved me from suicide. Just remember you have so much time in life to make things awesome its just up to you and no one else to make you happy. you have to want to do it yourself. pull yourself up and (not to be insensitive) but stop feeling bad for yourself and be strong and take control. be independent. once I realized that it was up to me to make myself happy I was able to control myself, and as fast as I fell into the deep I rose back just as fast and with numerous realizations I was back on my two feet and I now have a confidence that I am sure will take me places. I hope you do well. Maybe you can frame a few pics of your dog and get a new puppy in his or her memory. Its not replacement its paying homage to the past. Also take yourself out on the town and meet some new people. If your job is depressing try looking for a new one in the meantime.. or maybe its time for change, just take a risk and move some plave new and exciting.. maybe even study abroad.

i think it kinda helps to smile. like no joke. you might or most likely will look hella funny crying your eyes out smiling, but it always helps. its kinda like youre depressed, and you smile and then you start laughing at how funny it is you were just smiling. ya know? you pretty much just gotta forget the things you cant control.
life changes, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. just remember that no matter which path your changes take you down..the good or the bad..something wonderful is on its way, and it'll all be better in the end
