Ecstasy probably ties with acid in how badly it can affect your brain in the long-term.
Usually the problems last for only 2 years after you took the pill. However, since it disturbs your serotonin levels, it leaves you very vulnerable to psychological problems (and note that very low serotonin levels directly correlate to depression.)
So yes, these things could definitely be tied to your ecstasy use; however, there may be other causes, so you might want to check in with your doctor.

"University of Adelaide researchers have found that ecstasy taken on a few occasions could cause long-term brain damage from severe damage to brain cells, with the potential to cause future memory loss or psychological problems."

No, probaply something else.

i used ectasy three times. i am not seventeen and i was sixteen when i did it. the first time was new years last year, i took very little maybe a quarter of a pill. while my eyes went weird, i didnt feel much different the second time i did it i started off with taking 3/4 then i took another 1/4 then i took another 1/4 then i took a 1/2. so all together that was one and three quarters, and im not a very big girl. im about 5'4 and weighed about 120 pounds. so that was a really unhealthy amount. i never felt any of those problems though

dont ya think that could be a strong warning that you shouldnt do drugs...........drugs are for friggen losers

Actually; it's relatively rare to have a psychotic break long after ecstasy use, vs. while under the influence of it. If this happened, it's likely that you had a simmering psychosis anyway, and that the drug triggered it, but did not clinically 'cause' it. Even one-time use of ecstasy can cause a deep depression, but it usually only lasts for less than a week. Frequent use of the drug can and often does lead to long-term depression. Keep in mind, our brain chemistry is as unique to us as a finger print. Legal or illegal drugs affect differnt people in different ways, and to varying degrees. Tha'ts why it often takes several tries with different anti-depressants to find one that does the job. Good luck :)

I've had hundreds of ecstasy tablets, I'm fine.

I'd say yes. I've taken it several times, along with plenty of other drugs, yet never had any problems. Other people I know though, who have done it far more often, and had more chances to take a "bad pill" have had a lot of lasting damage. I have one friend who's had a fair bit of depression after using heavily for a few years, and what appears to be very bad nerves (constant shaking). Another who didn't take it too often, but now has bouts of schizophrenia, and has to be hospitalized 2 - 3 times a year for periods of up to a few weeks. Another one of my friends was hallucinating for a long time after a binge, seeing a large white rabbit chasing her around her house, and had to be hospitalized. All of these people were told, after disclosing all their previous drug use (marijuana, cocaine (hard & soft), Ecstasy, shrooms), that their problems were caused by Ecstasy, and that a chemical in their brain had been changed due to the drug.
