It's most likely a hypnagogic/hypnopompic hallucination. These are hallucinations that occur while falling asleep or immediately upon awakening. They are completely normal and nothing to worry about. It's just our mind playing tricks on us in the transition phase between sleep and full wakefulness. Many people experience them. If this only occurs around sleep time then don't worry about it. It's when you persistently hear voices or experience other sensory hallucinations during the day when fully awake that it may be a concern and you should see a doctor.

first it's in your head, and then it's someone whispering in your ear.... you want to pick one? Maybe you have a ghost.

hmm..maybe you are freaking yourself out, maybe you are afraid to be in that room alone in the dark.....try listening to music or something maybe it will stop....

I THNK IT WOULD BE BEST TO SEE YOUR DOCTOR AS YOU MAY HAVE HAD SOME BAD EXPERIENCE IN YOUR LIFE OR EVEN BE AFRAID FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON MAYBE REGARDING MEN , SO AS YOU DROPPIG TO SLEEP THESE FEARS COULD SHOW ITS SELF AS THOUGH SOMEONE IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING , I WOULD ASK TO SEE A COUNCILLOR SO THEY COULD GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS , BUT DONT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS THAT ITS SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS AS YOU WILL START TO BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE HEARING GOOD LUCK

Ignoring it might not be a good thing. Try to distract yourself with something. Music? I'd suggest calling talking to a therapist & possibly meds if thats the only option left. But talking to a therapist can help to learn ways to deal with these voices. Just hang in there! Be safe!!!

I have had similar experiences before. I figured out it was because I don't like to be home alone, so I was imagining noises. I learned to block it out by thinking happy thoughts and turning on music or TV. I always heard footsteps or someone outside. Now that I have realized it was my imagination..I don't hear them anymore.

woah, thats scary!
the other people give good advice....
maybe its schitsofrenia (sp).... skitsophrenic people hear voices... or like that person talking in capitals said... it could just be something that happened in the past,
either way, the doctor would be the best way to go!
good luck!...

try turn the voice into your fav song!!.... that would be so much better!

hearing voices is a very common side effect of many mental illnesses(i.e. bi-polar, schizophrenia). Please don't worry this is something people just don't talk about.

but it could also be physical such as tinnitus

please go to the doctor
