Has anyone been able to stop their anger and rage problems.?!

Question: I am interested to know. I struggle with my anger alot. It almost goes in 3-4 week phases. For a bit everything is good and getting back to normal from my last blow up....until a trigger comes and I cut myself back right to square one.... Damaging my relationship everytime in the process...I've known I have real anger issues for 2 years now and IM STILL flying into fits of rage. Does it ever really go away? My life isn't horrible, I have people who love me and a good paying job. Could I be a narcissist?

things were always odd for me. i blushed if someone talked to me etc. so people would laugh. my parents had no trouble telling me that i was, their word, nothing. it goes on and on like that and i let it. then i went to mental health experts. they tell me to assert myself when someone plays their usual joke, or say hurtful things. stand up for yourself. one day i did what they said, and grew more and more self confident. unfortunately, that bringing on a sense of worth caused me to become enraged, when the same old people try the same old stuff. you are right about the trigger. when i first went to the mental health clinic, they told me that i had thousands of triggers. i control the rage as best i can but it is getting harder and harder. the only blessing in the whole rotten mess, is that people treat me with the same respect that they treat each other. i pray a switch will come on and turn the outrage, and anger off, forever. take it a day at a time, and be aware of a blowup as being possible, if you can, walk away form the cause of the anger. always remember how bad you want to get hold of your anger. get some help. and stick with that help, as long as it takes. your life is more valuable than using your personality to express rage. find that value, you really need to. i hope that you can become a blessing to yourself and those around you. God Bless

um. . . i take a few minutes to think about why im angry then i try to convince myself not to be i mean whats the point its a waste of energy some people try 2 make me angry but thats immature its all about self control.:*

yes! when anger starts to fill me, I disregard the problem and take a deep breath... think of the things that i can do about that so that my anger will be gone. don't be aggresive when that situation comes. it is your aggresiveness that burst your anger out...

hmm have you been through a traumatic event or something that seem to have caused your moods to become angry? you sound like you are suffering from PTSD.

Go to the doctor! Have you ever used or been exsposed to meth? There are some people who just have chemical imbalance that causes rage at simple things.Jealousy anger and annoyance as well.I felt like I was losing my temper all the time.My patience was short the kids were so loud everything was irritating.I got on medication and have never looked back.Im on risperdal and it helps control it.I just dont rage anymore. If you get on it give it two weeks and realize that its going to knock you on your butt the first day so take it before bed or when you can sleep. The first day everybody Ive talked to has to lie down. Each day its better but your legs may ache for 2 weeks then mine went away and my life just really improved. If it wasnt for meds I probly wouldnt be here because I was really mad all the time.Id probly be in jail for beating up this trashy girl that was after my boyfreind. But I didnt do it.! seriously do you ever grind your teeth in anger? Do you ever wake up mad?It may be partly chemical partly people making you mad but meds can help.
