Stress does affect your memory as you have many different things going on in your life and struggle to balance everything, hence confusion and forgetting certain things. I experienced this last month in fact. It was frustrating but I managed to calm myself down and start writing lists of what I had to do everyday. It helped because it was structured and separated jobs that I did.

stress interferes with focus so i it is not a cellular loss of memory like in effects drug use. practice stress reduction methods like yoga and meditation, even exercising helps reduce stress. and take supplements to help like vit c. i myself have experienced considerable improvement to my memory through herbal supplements and yoga and meditation.
