I have PTSD, but my wife doesnt seem to want to understand it, or support me, wh!

Question: All i want is for her to love me, but she doesnt and thinks that all my PTSD symptoms are just me being me. I cant get through to her on how serious this is for me, i need her to be there for me. It just makes matters worst when the one i love so much, cant be there for me.

Hi,it is a sad fact of life ,but some people are unable to deal with illness of any kind, perhaps this is why your wife seems so unsupportive. She probably does love you,but is just unable to show you.I too suffer with depression, and my husband is very abrupt with me ,if i have a bad day he pushes me away and tells me to get a grip and stop being stupid,he is unable to deal with it too.It is very hurtful when a partner is like this but i guess maybe they are just scared and don't know what to do or say, when just a hug would make so much difference.

Oh, and tell ur wife like it is. If she doesnt wanna accept you, tell her to get over herself. Or maybe you should re-evaulate ur marraige choice. What exactly are you doing though, and what happened to u cause this dramatic stress? I need all the facts, u could be wrong, or she could, I cant be sure.

If you have been clinically diagnosed with PTSD, then you need to take her with you to the Dr. that diagnosed you and have your DR explain what PTSD IS and how it can affect a person. I am not going to say to dump your wife, yet she does need to understand your issue and accept it as an illness. If she does not understand it, chances are a little education on the condition will help. If she still does not want to accept it, I dont think that will happen if she talks to the DR about it.
Good Luck .

She knows you better than anyone, pal. Probably better than yourself. Maybe its time to listen to her and do what she recommends. What are your other options at this point?
