Could I be depressed?!

Question: I just asked a question about my health involving sleepiness, etc; and several of my answerers thought it might be depression. i dont have anything to be depressed about really. I have a boyfriend that loves me very much, my parents are good to me. I dont have any health issues. I have great friends(the best ones in my life so far), and im on the right track with school somewhat. how would i know if im depressed? i dont know if i can go to the doctor because I have to spend a few months without health insurance until it kicks in with my new job. i will be 21 tomorrow (yay) so i guess my question is, is there a way to tell without seeing a doctor, or if a did see a doctor what are the ways to be diagnosed? this is worrying me a bit...

sometimes you can suffer from depression without realizing it,,,have you lost interest in stuff you like? maybe your body is emotionally stressed about something and it is reacitng to it,,,,,,,, the Dr. is likely to ask you questions about your sleeping pattern, irratibility, loss of sex drive, and your overall mood. this is how they can tell...anyhow if you think you might be its better to get it checked,,,,,good luck

Don't worry everyone likes to use buzz words that sound logical for a moment .. one of the most overused words is you must be depressed.
Your body might need a lot of rest right now, or maybe you are eating or drinking stuff that stimulates your mind so you cannot sleep, change your diet a bit in the evenings. Like drink a protein water or just plain water instead of coffee, tea or a soft drink before going to sleep and see if it helps.
Stay happy!!

if your depressed you wont be able to sleep properly..
you may have pannick attacks..
low moods..paranoia..
anxiety..eating more or less..
no motivation..
mood swings..tierdness...if you dont feel like this then your ok..

If you are happy then you must not be depressed.

Well, depression cam be very tricky, subconsciously you might have underlying problems. the best way to diagnose is to see a Dr. they can do a short evaluation! BUT, as a person with many health problems i would suggest you wait until your insurance kicks in (to avoid pre-existing conditions) that said, only if you are not a danger to yourself or anyone around you!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY don't get too drunk, the hangovers are not worth it, and if you do, please have a designated driver=BE SAFE!!!
