Geez Harry !! I thought from the first part of your question "Old, unhappy and heavy smoker" that you were going to say that you were like 80 or 90 !! You're only 45, crikey, i'll be 45 this year and i sure as n*uts don't feel old.

Clean up your diet Harry for starters. Food has a huge impact on the way your body will function and perform. Eat more fresh fruits and vegies, ground nuts and seeds, lean meats and fishes, skimmed milks and cheeses and wholegrain breads and cereals............. drink more water too Harry.

Are you sure you aren't simply dehydrated?? Expecting your digestive system to digest food and transport essential vitamins and nutrients with no water in your system is an awfully big ask buddy ............ Water is imperative to life. Without water your body will have a terrible time digesting food, transporting nutrients, lubricating your joint sockets etc.etc.etc.etc......... nothing substitutes for water. your body needs at least 2 litres of water daily to function efficiently.

also, try to cut back on drinks such as coffee, tea, alcohol, sodas and soft drinks (if you drink any of them) which will all do great job of dehydrating you. ie: just 1 can of soda or soft drink will make your body peesh out up to 12 cups of water !!! 1 cup of coffee will make your body peesh out about 2 cups of water ........... read the book by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.... "Your body's many cries for water"...... an astounding and scary and very true read.

Take a good quality multi B complex supplement on a daily basis to support healthy digestive, neural and immune system functioning. The B complex of vitamins is essential in all these things and will also also support and aid your body in dealing with the stresses we face in our everyday lives ie: bratty school kids, overworked and underpaid, new job, illness, relationship dramas etc.etc.etc.

Be nice to you buddy ........... do stuff that you really enjoy doing sometimes. Go surfing, bikeriding, go for a walk in the park, go buy a new soccer ball or football and use it !! anything really that's going to put a smile on your dial.

Oh, eat more foods rich in magnesium too. magnesium is known as the antistress mineral and is essential for healthy nerve and muscle functioning and for heart health. Foods rich in magnesium are cold water fishes such as tuna, salmon, sardines, whiting, leafy and green vegies, nuts and seeds and wholegrain cereals and breads.

I sincerely wish you the best of health and vitality buddy?

CHEERS

use weed to get off the squares and then just smoke weed i would get a good vapourizer the keep your lungs in better shape

you cant get better then a volcano vapourizer

oh...i'm sorry for you...but there is nothing to worry about...when we have nothing to loose, everything is to be gained...start some hobbies and first of all quit smoking...just think about this...if you get not to buy cigarettes at all, you could destine some money to a bigger project, to give them to poor children or to buy something you really need...i hope everything will be solved soon...just smile...and don't care about students...they're really evil sometimes

Get "Asthavent" inhaler and try to reduce smoking.
You probably wake up at night and smoke also, now if you can stop that nightly smoke, you will be a much healthier person during the day.
So................
Take a sleeping tablet at night and get to bed early.
Sit in a very comfortable chair when sleeping.
Keeping upright will reduce coughing during the night, which actually robs you of your sleep.
By morning, get rid of all that phlegm and then have a smoke, which will open the metacarpi in your lungs ad put you in to a coughing session again.
Now take some of the inhaler and get rid of some more phlegm.
Try not to smoke again before you are in the car on the way to work....
Just that habit will reduce your nicotine intake by 1/4 because you smoke more in your first two hours after waking than what you do all day, and if you cut out the nightly smoking, we are looking at reducing your nicotine intake by 1/2....
NOW that should get you back in to the stream of life...
Not so?
Eat only fruits during the day...
No kidding.
Have as many as you like, but keep to fruits.
DO NOT DRINK FIZZY COLD DRINK, (SODA)...
That puts weight on you like you will not believe....
At night, have ONLY ONE plate of dinner..
Do not have a second plate, if you must, have a sugar free jelly for pudding.
Mornings, you can have a hearty breakfast, but because you feel nausious, you probably do not have breakfast.....
At night, while clearing off the table, make your self a sandwhich which you can much on while driveing to work....
Or keep a box of rusks at work that you may have one of during morning tea, but after that.....Fruit, fruit, fruit...
That will take care of your blood sugar, and keep you from buying that hamburger or medium sized pizza with extra garlic after school day.....
Start with that and in three months, you will feel like a new person.
Then we can look at getting you fit again, but do what I advised faithfully, and see the differance.....
I did this with my dad who is 47 and after just two months, he is looking and feeling like a teenager....
Hugs
Clara

firstly, you could stop thinking that "your best days are behind you" - it could be the beginning of the best years of your life if you can make a plan for change.
Stopping smoking is a great start. I used to smoke and found it depressing that I felt I could't stop and that I had no control.
Getting physically fit is also a great way of lifting your spirits and helps you to see things clearly.
These days its relatively easy to change jobs if you think you are in a rut. I recently changed jobs for this reason - while I you are in this rut it is very hard to think laterally- the mind seems to be stuck in one mode of thinking
A few suggestions - I wish you all the best - its hard to break out of these situations and takes alot of willpower and motivation, but if you think it has to be done, then it has to be done !

Start by walking daily, exercise makes us feel good about ourselves, I quit 3 1/2 years ago using Allen Carr book, got to believe you can do it, good luck.

Try Wellbutrin!
