17 is the perfect age for depression. You're stuck between being a kid and being an adult--and that IS depressing. Almost as depressing as actually being an adult. Best way to get over it? Sense of humor. Expect the worst and when it happens, laugh at it because it's what you expected. Or anger--anger is good. You're depressed over something, right? So get angry at whatever's depressing you and then find the humor in it. Go rent this DVD: Lewis Black: Red, White, and Screwed. It not psychologist mumbo-jumbo, it's comedy. It'll teach you that getting angry at the world and your situation is 100 times better than being depressed with it. But the biggest thing you can remember is this: Whatever you think is important, isn't going to be important in a year.

Have you tried medication? How long have you tried seeing a therapist? Sometimes, like medications, you need to find one that works for you.

Is there a reason you don't want to get over your depression? How severe has it been? Have you been able to beat it for a day, or a week? If so, what did you do differently then?

Have you tried exercising?

Good luck,

I mean atleast you still have your mom and dad. Of course no doctors are helping. How can they this is your life your decisions you take charge, stop feeling sorry for yourself and look at all the great things going for you. Thats how you learn to deal.
