Do I have a personality disorder? Can You name it?!

Question: I recently researched borderline personality disorder, and found that it describes my wife wuite accurately. I brought it up to her, just wanted to help her to get help for a problem she may not realize she has. She got mad, and said maybe I should look up the disorder I have. I have some mild issues, but I don't know where to begin to look for my problems. Here is a brief description of my faults(what I recognize, there could more I don't). Maybe you have some insight??
I had a normal childhood, divorced parents, kind of poverty at times, but no abuse ot neglect or anything. Always did well in school(high test scores), never fought, but was always an outsider, very shy and withdrawn. Never angry or anything, just a mild mannered, quiet kid. Now I am married and with my wife I have always seemed to have problems handling confrontation, sometimes getting out of control with my anger. I put her down more than I care to, and I have a hard time seeing the good things about her.

Ummm, get over it? You wouldn't have asked your question if you wanted an answer like that.
I have BPD and unfortunately, being married or just having normal rleationships is very hard. If your wife has BPD, the dey is Patience, patience, patience. She feels so many emotions at once someime and ist's so hard to teel why or even where they come from. But, you getting mad will not soleve anything. My husband goes and plays compl games when I*'m "borderline." He doesn't fight back, becasue I'm just craving anoather way to up my drama. It's just one of the things I go through. It's hard to understand, and sorry, but people with BPD hurt the ones they love the most. Your wife loves you, but try to have compasssion. Everytime she has a "situation", she is hurting. Also, educate yourself on it as much as you can. The book "I hate you-do't leave me" is a quick read, very helpful, and makes BPD look what is isn't -ugly. Good Luck!

maybe you are a non-bpd, as the intimates of bpd sufferers are sometimes called.

You should be asking a doctor these questions, not people here on Yahoo Answers.

You need a course in anger management.

self diagnoses is dangerous ppl here are most likely not profesionals so go se a doc, there are many places that offer psycological help cheap try catholic charities, a local college or universities. what you said to your wife was insulting, just cause you read something does not give you a degree, or ability to diagnose. if you reallly want advice from yahoo i reccomend you think before you speak!

get over it , accept responsibility for your own problems , go see a councillor , sounds to me like your making excuses for the way your treating your wife and blaming her for your actions - thats called cop out !
