How do I let my schizophrenic friend know he can talk to me?!

Question: I've known my friend for about 6 months, and we get along really well. I find that in the short amount of time we've known each other, we've developed a really deep friendship. There's always been a connection between us, and we talk a lot.

Anyway, I've been battling anxiety since my mid teens, which I've recently started to learn how to manage. My friend knows I have anxiety, but we've never talked about it in depth, because we're always around other friends.
I know that they're two different conditions, but I want to be able to find a way to tell him that I've experienced some of the things he experiences, and that I want him to talk to me.

I don't want to force him or anything, I just want him to know that it's ok to open up to me if he wants to.

The best thing to do is to say you are open to him talking to you about anything, and that you are not going to judge him (only say this if you actually mean it). Schizophrenia is very scary and he might be having horrifying thoughts that he knows would shock you. I mean, basically, tell him what you told us. You can't force him to talk, and that's a good thing - he needs to do this on his own time.

maybe write him a letter

my brother is schizophernic so i know lots about this sickness, never ask your firend what he is thinking of, or avoid stressful situations with him as it make this condition worse, also i know that its unrelevant to your question but please be aware that marijuana is really bad for schizophernics,
so i think you should just try to take things slowly until he decides to discuss his problems with you, but never be pushy

PSYCHIATRY IS A FRAUD

Do the research.
