In the law enforcement field, are certain jobs more available to applicants with Bipolar Depression? Even if the disorder has been mild, and is controlled with treatment.
In addition, the individual would need to see a doctor for the treatment.
If the individual admitted some past problems with alcohol, but no DUI's, no illegal substances used, no medical facilities checked into, would that also automatically disqualify a canidate? With consideration of recovery made, and emphasis of it being in the past.
The problems mentioned mainly led to performance problems forcing a break in school, and then resuming after getting treatment for the Bipolar.

hmmmm does being bipolar bar you from obtaining a liscense to carry a handgun?? if so I'd say that that would effect your ability to serve in law enforcement.
You can get a carrying permit if you havent been checked into an institution, but law enforcement might do a psch test/eval.
