Anti-depressants that won't cause weight gain?!

Question: Such a thing? Also, can you do them seasonally (like for SAD)...or do you need to be on them all year round?

Everyone reacts differently to different antidepressants. Alot of them will cause weight gain, but not for everyone. I believe Wellbutrin is supposed to not cause so much weight gain.

Your Dr. should say how long.

Depakote made me gain weight whereas Zoloft made me lose weight. Every1 is different.

piss on you whoever gave me thumbs down!

It depends on how much are you depressed? Every person reacts differently.

There are a lot of anti-depressants that will actually take away your appetite. What happens is that these medications start to send messages to the brain increasing the levels of dopamine and serotonin, along with some other MAO inhibitors, if you are getting to much of any one of these many medications the level in your brain will be sending a message that you are satisfied, eating secretes serotonin what makes you feel pleasure if these levels are to high you will not want to eat, but what happens if these levels are normal your brain tells you it wants more and then looks for ways to fulfill it such as smoking more or eating more. I hope you followed all that i can say so much more but this is not an essay-bottom line all these things need to be told to your doctor so the right dose is administered and you will not have to worry about loosing weight if the right dose and willpower are playing a key role-do not keep telling yourself that i am gaining weight because of the meds-subconsciously you are actually giving your self a reason to eat so much.

No one here will be able to tell you that for sure.
Make a appointment with your doctor.
There are many many options with depression medication. It may take a few tries to find the perfect one, but it is out there.

Welbutrin SR, definately.
