tranquilizer dart then tie them to the seat and haul on to the hospital. Make sure you use a mild one so they remain conscious but unable to resist.

No one wants to go to the mental hospital.
And chances are, it won't do them any good.
At least, they don't to anyone I've ever met.
most of my friends end up going 3 or more times, and end up faking feeling better to get out...
Maybe he just need counseling and meds?
Don't put a non-sick person in a hospital.
It doesn't help...
I know this first hand

I am the girlfriend of someone who is most likely bi-polar. He is in counseling and in order to determine if a person is or isn't they must seek help and go through testing. It's not like ohh yes you are suffering from bi-polar disorder here's some pills like I do with my depression because bi-polar is a huge mix of different emotions.
Suggest counseling to this person. It may come easy to them that they get help or it may take time in which you need to be supportive.

You have to convince them they need psychiatriac treatment.

From there--they must have the WILL to be treated and heal.

If you strike twice here, there's little else you can do. You can't expect anything good to come by making someone go to a hospital who does not feel they are ill and/or does not wish to be treated.
