Tickled to help depression?!

Question: I have clinical depression and I am out of meds due to a change in insurance and a lack of motivation until the pain set in. I get pills on 2/11--which seems a world away.

I love being tickled, and my gf is happy to oblige. I like that the tickling sensation dsitracts me from my self hatred and feelings of disconnect.

Doe tickling help with your depression? What else do you do to get by?

You've come up with an excellent self-remedy, because the very act of laughing - which you can't help when you're tickled - releases natural chemicals into your brain and elevates your mood. Plus, factor in that you're doing it with someone you love who loves you enough to tickle you to make you feel better!(validation) and the healing benefits of touch, and you have a great home remedy. I've always turned to yoga and breathing exercises and watching funny movies, but I love your tickling cure!
