How to deal with depression while pregnant?!

Question: Let me start off by saying that I have been depressed since I was 14 and am now 19. I go through different phases of deppression sometimes it's worse than others and in the past I have thought about suicide, I don't want to get like that again. I cry all the time and at times life seems hopeless. It is affecting my whole life and has been since I was so young, it actually feels normal at times to be like this, because I havnt been not depressed in so long. I don't know what to do, I dont have the money for a psychologist and I wouldnt feel comfortable in a support group... what should I do any advice from somebody who's been here before?

well i assume that since you are pregnant you are seeing a gynecologist.. make an appointment to see him/her, and just tell them about your depression. if they cant help you, they certainly can point you in the right direction, and i know that you are tight on money, and trust me--if your gyn doctor is worth their weight in gold they will help you get the help and medication that you can use while pregnant. i have a wonderful gyn doctor, and i know if i was having problems all i would have to do is call him and he would see me immediately, or tell me who to talk to.

im sorry you are suffering from depression. it runs in my family, and i have had a few cousins that suffer greatly from it. with the right medication (and trust me, it may take quite a few different med switches before you find the right one) you CAN and WILL lead a happy life.

I just went through a bout of depression, God was truly my only help! He pulled me through with His tender loving kindness. Its a long story but the elephant on my chest got evicted and I'm free!

The best support you can find will be a therapist. Find a free or low cost counseling service in your area. Use the yellow pages or the Internet to do some research. You don't have to be in a group if you don't want it. Ask for individual therapy, if this make you feel more comfortable.

Think about why you are depressed?
What makes you happy?
Are there things you can do to get your mind off of things that get you depressed?

answer those questions and evaluate yourself.
think of how you can make your life better.
if you don't make any changes in your life, your life will remain the same.
Personally, i think you need to be confident about yourself, love yourself and let people know it.
Show people how happy you are, and you will receive happiness, friendships, and memories from in return too.

Find someone you trust to confide in. Been there done that. Sometimes it does not go away, but I can say with experience, talking to someone helps. Without knowing what is going on in your life to make you feel this way, I could not give any other accurate advice. But maybe whomever you talk to might. Find something to do to fill the void and push out the negative energy. A new hobby maybe. Sometimes I bury my nose in a good book. Ok so I end up lost in it for days, but it helps too.
