Do you have Asperger Syndrome?!

Question: I am 40 yrs old and have Asperger Syndrome, I had a really horrible childhood due to the lack of understanding and help available at that time. Things are not much better now but I have a good wife who is very understanding. If you are an aspie find what you have a gift for, its there somewhere, mine is complex logic but it could be anything. I have all the traits, I never look people in the eye, I must have clean hands and I collect stamps and have no interest in them at all. I will not do anything I do not want to do until I am ready to do so, I don't know my left and right without thinking about it first, I can not tell a lie, this causes more trouble for me than you could ever imagine, honesty is not always the right thing with peoples feelings. I have been in kids homes, foster folk and borstal all due to being an aspie and not being understood, but thats life.
I work with computers and have very little to do with people which is perfect for me, I like to be alone and have no attachments to anything. We aspie's do not feel emotions like normal people, we have no sense of attachment, we feel love but are often unable to show it, we have no sense of empathy nor consequense. We have no concept of time or the future, as we live for the here and now, we are capable of original thought, we are not known for violence but can be extremly violent if cornered of forced to comply against our wishes. We love but in our own ways, it is common as with me, we can not bear to be touched in any way by other people or creatures.
Our minds often never sleep and race along at a "million miles an hour" as they say, we see things others do not, details often overlooked by "normal" people, we understand complex situations yet can not read body language.
Clothes, people, cars, houses or anything have no value to an aspie as we do not have a sense of attachment or value.
Asperger Syndrome does not make you unusual it makes you unique, just a little different thats all.

No.

No, but my nephew in law does and he is the cutest boy ever and will be going to main stream classes this year!

No but i used to have it when i was a kid. As i have dyspraxia it contains a little aspergers but only when ur a kid. Im not sure if i still have it tbh but i did when i was about 5ish.

I don't but my son does and he is learning to live with it and he is doing well.

Yes I have Asperger's Syndrome. If you have any queries, feel free to email me from the link on my profile.

Yes, I'm 23 and I was diagnosed last year. I've had it all my life but no one heard of it when I was a little kid.

I don't - but I work with children who do. It is a life-long condition - there is no cure - but there are great strengths attached to this condition - and people can give so much back to society if they are allowed to be themselves and show/use their strengths.
