Can falling in love counteract depression?!

Question: Or help go through it? I know it's a chemical unbalance, but can loving someone new have an effect?

it can, but it can also turn sour....NEVER rely on someone else to make you happy or feel good about yourself...it's nice yes, but i've been depressed for years....finding a guy seemed okay at the time and then after we broke up...i was heart broken and almost made things worse for me....the key to depression is you have to be emotionally aware of your surroundings and always be prepared for anything.....

unfortunately,no...
people think it will, but usually falling in love during a depression is a bad idea.Although he and you may both be actively trying to work together,a single though of him breaking up with you,or something along those lines, could trigger an intense downward spiral.
My advise is to get yourself OUT of the depression before making a move.think of it as motivation.

having support & love in our lives is considered a "protective factor" against depression... it can not "cure" severe depression of course... but having someone in our lives who loves & accepts us definitely helps.

Hmm...I thought it could....and I think it can....but eventually you have to deal with the depression.

Euphoria, another one of the symptoms of depression.

huh it sure can! im 15 and fell for a guy (not a little crush, much more) a yr ago. Ive never told anyone but seeing him so perfect has actually made me depressed, anorexic and bulimic.
