samixann; I am sorry that you are feeling so down about this. If it helps, you are definitely raising awareness about this syndrome. I, for one, had never heard of it. I can understand your depression and obsession with regards to not being able to have children. However, there are a few options. From what I have read there was no mention of ovaries being involved with MRKH. So it may be a possibility to have a child of your own using your eggs but having another woman to carry the baby for you. I realize that this is not the most ideal situation but it could possibly allow you to have a child. Also, please don't discount adoption. There are so many children out there in foster care who are just begging for a good home and loving family. I would suggest asking your physician if there is a MRKH suppport group anywhere near you. If you live near a major city or university there may be some sort of research going on at a hospital or university that could be of use to you. Also, your local mental health clinic might be of some use to you in dealing with your understandable depression. Reach out for help with both hands...it is there and you will eventually feel better. And take good care of yourself...be sure to get enough sleep and follow a proper diet and exercise regime...it can make a world of difference. Our lives seldom turn out the way that we dream and hope they will when we are young...however, we often lead lives that bring us other types of happiness. Please remember that if God closes a door, he always opens a window. Who knows, you might just become the most awesome kindergarten teacher who ever lived and thus touch thousands and thousands of childrens lives. I hope something that I've written hear helps in some small way. I do feel your pain.

AHAHAHAH WHAT

YOUR 16 AND WORRIED ABOUT HAVING KIDS?!?!
WHHHHHAAAAAAAT
hahaaaa

hahah oh my god.

whhhyy????

adopt when ur older! :D
when u feel depressed, just think how the crippled children must feel every day when they see ppl running around, or they watch sports on tv.....thats what i do and it makes me HAPPY~

yea, if ur sixteen then u should be in your last year of highschool or in college. well u should talk to a school consoler or a parents, friend, teacher, etc. just dont go emo

im sorry you are going through this.i don't have much advice atm but you can always talk to me.maybe you should talk to someone like a counselor or anyone.

hi. i have vitiligo and acne. i was abused physically and mentally as a child. i have gone through a lot as a biracial child too. i feel your pain. i have cried so many times. i tried to kill myself. all kinds of stuff. its been rough. all i can say is you are here for a reason, and it will get better. even in the darkest hour there is light. i write out my pain in songs and poems, i craft, and i listen to r and b, jazz, and neo soul music. it helps soothe me. i hope i helped you. i will be praying for you. many blessings and much luck. you are here for a reason.

well the fact that it strikes 1/5000 women makes u one of a kind. just keep thinking that you don't really need children to keep you happy. you could always adopt a child if you are really stressed about it, but at age 16, you shouldn't worry too much. if you want to meet someone in person then talk to your guidance counselor or mother. they could help.

Well if its affecting you , then you should talk to some fo your friends, help yourself calm down. If you realy want to raise awareness a good place to start might be on the internet with a blog, which can provide free information about it and what it does, after that reach otu to people with similar conditions

Best of luck

Are you good in graphic design, drama, visual art or any type or art? If you, so you can make a poster.. like, put a feotus or something on it and write something really deep and sad underneath it.
Also...:
I don't know about you, but my school encourages clubs, so you could start a club or something at your school. Get a bunch of friends to help you and start putting up posters for your new "club". In that club, you can do fund raisers and make posters or videos which can later on be posted somewhere in your school. You can also ask the admission's office if you can tell an interesting or really sad fact on the intercom like once a week or something. It'd be a great way for your message to get through to others and it would hopefully help you get your anger/sadness/depression out.

Just try and live life to its fullest; and just cause you won't be able to birth your own children doesn't mean you can't have any, you could try arranging for an adoption! but an early adoption where you follow the pregnancy. Just an idea... Just try to keep your chin up, and if something doesn't go your way, instead of bein upset try and think of how you can avoid something like that in the future, or how it could help your future.... hope this helps

Look on the bright side.
Although I'm a guy, I'm sure that having a baby is really painful and that it'll make you look older sooner. So if you don't have kids, get a dog or a cat or several pets to keep you company. It will get your mind off of not being able to have children.

I'm sorry about this. I would probably get an appointment with a doctor and see if there is someone you can talk to about your depression. I know that this must be difficult and I understand you being frustrated with it. I hope that you will be able to get some help for your depression.

honey you are not alone in your situation. you are 16 years old now. and you still have your whole life ahead of you. god will bless you with a great man one day and you could adopt. untill then enjoy your life as a young gorgeous 16 yearold girl. because miracles happen everyday if you belive. there's no telling what god will do for you. just continue to live your life and be an example, that just because the doctor said this about me dose not mean i'm not gonna be happy and live life to the fullest. just have faith and god will take care of you.

You can always adopt when you are older.

Most sheep are born black. Just remember your not the only fish in the sea, there are plenty like you.
