Panic attacks. think im over them but so long since i went too far from home ner!

Question: the first thing you have to know is that its all in the mind
to prove this next time you have one rap your knuckles hard on something the pain will break the cycle at once.
once you understand this you will start to get confidence and know you can control it
i suffered from it for most of my life .when it had a grip of me i was afraid to get out of bed.then one day i said to myself im going to be stuck here forever so that didnt suit me. so i ventured out to town while it was at its worst .walking up the street i accidendly banged my knuckles on a pebbel dashed wall ,the pain broke the cycle at once. i then decided to work my way around the world on my own.knowing that pain would stop it.it took about 1 year to realy get it under control i rarely get it now and when i do i just tell myself its all in the mind and its gone.hope this helps.

Well, they say to start small (baby steps) go a little one day. If you get nervous, stop. go home. Try again the next day.
Sometimes it helps to have someone go with you.
Have you tried hypnosis?
Also psyche yourself up for what you are doing.
Getting a little miffed at the panic helps too. Convince yourself that you can beat this!

What helped me was knowing it's natural. It's the "Fight or flight" syndrome.

On the otherhand, I was a little sh*t as a teenager when ?I suffered it.

Take some Kava Kava with you. When you feel its comming - take some and it will go away fast.

Hi,
I have suffered with panic attacks for 20 years and it has not been a easy thing to control. I had a really bad spate of them in the 90's it's very rare now that i have a bad one. I try to keep positive and think to myself i have to do this, this is easy whatever the scenario. I know it's hard but can be achieved.
Good Luck

The number one thing you have to keep in mind about panic attacks is that they are in no way harmful to your body :-)

It's best to let them ride out by telling yourself to try and relax as much as you can, concentrate on breathing and breath slowly and that it will all be over soon and you won't get hurt.

Your doctor should be able to prescribe you medication to help with the panic attacks and may even suggest reffering you to see a counsellor to help the way you think and how your mind works.

Good Luck.
