I seem to do EVERYTHING 3 or 4 times before I can get on with my life?!

Question: if i put something away in my drawer...i have to do it like 3 times to make sure it is perfectly there in its perfect spot...and if I put my necklace on the table I have to do it like 3 times to make sure its in a spot that is not close to dust or something...but i only do this with MY things and in MY room...and if i don't do it..i feel really frustrated and can't stop thinking about it...this has gotten better over the years..but am i just a perfectionist or is this some kind of mental sickness?

It certainly doesnt sound like you have OCD, obsessive compulsive disorder, as people who do suffer with this, check and check and check again, not 3-4 times but 30-40 times..and that includes checking everything and everybodies.

It maybe your just insecure about certain aspects of your life, and you have to keep reasurring yourself, but touching and making sure everything you own is still their and in tact..

I know a person who is very much like you..he checks and checks, but he has been very traumatised in his life and taken so many risks to get where he has..he scared of losing what he has, he dont take his belongings for granted.

I hope this makes sense.

Sounds like obsessive-compulsive disorder...

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. You need help.

These are the symptoms of obsessive/compulsive disorder. I don't think you are gonna find an answer just talking. I believe you need medication. Many people have it, and have found help. Try to find a psychiatrist you like and tell him what you just wrote here and I'll bet he'll set you on the right road.
