How to stop thinking about doing things differently?!


Question: How can one stop themselves from replaying a situation in thier head.(over and over) about how they could have done something differently? Does this happen to anyone else? How do you stop it from driving you insane?

well, i have experienced that and yes it drives me crazy.. and probably it just has to wear off.
BUT IF I WERE A PSYCH-
or a spiritual person, ,,i would probably say, rethink what you did.. relive it mentally and then just picture yourself .. letting it go.. release it..accept it.. and go on
Think of it as a creative learning, not a failure..

ps there is a reason it is bugging you.. try to figure it our, and yet remember this time next week yoou wont think of it ,,

I can obsess over things I wished happened differently but when it comes down to it, what is done is done.

You need to gain better control of your mind. The more you focus and replay the same scene, the more your mind gets attracted to the negative implications from it. You sound as if you are living in regret. Regret is a useless emotion that does not help. Start by letting go of this emotion, using a technique known as EFT. i am going to assume you have no problems with anxiety disorders like OCD or something. but you would be an excessive worrier and you need to reduce your stress levels any way you can except bwith drugs or alcohol. i would really need to know more about you and some of these situations. good luck, john

ok heres the easy awnser. i did that too. but.. you can easily do stuff like sing or dance or think of your crush.
even talk to someone about what your thinking about. so once youve talked about it. talk about somthing ellse or think about somthing ellse. simple.
