Is xanax the best med to treat anxiety?!

Question: Nope. Xanax is great for periods of high stress and anxiety, but is not great for every day treatment. For that, you'd want to try a SSRI, like Lexapro, Zoloft or Effexor.

I take a small dose of xanax and it works well for me, however, I don't know that it is the absolute best drug. Different drugs work differently for everybody.

Not necessarily. You should only take medication for anxiety, after you have seen a psychologist for a full psychological workup, followed by a psychiatrist.
There are a lot of good antidepressants out there, that also help with anxiety. It depends on if you depression, ADD, or something else.
Good luck!

No, IMHO. It's okay for periodic panic attacks. Other than that, it's an extremely addictive drug with a short life. For ongoing anxiety, an SSRI (antidepressant) is a much better alternative. Therapy has a useful role in treating anxiety as well.

There is no best med to treat anxiety. You have to find out what works best for you. We are all different. Xanax may well work best for you. It does not work for me. I use a combination of Valium and Soma.

Once I built up a tolerance to Valium, my psychiatrist combined it with Soma. This brought back the effective action of the med. I have been taking a variety of meds for about 25 years now.

No but Relagen will help you gain control over your stress and anxiety symptoms! http://Stress-Formula.ze.cx

no

1) nuts - one day I was very anxious and I had some nuts and my anxiety was less just from that. often shortage of omega 3 oils can cause anxiety - which is why the nuts help (within reason). Walnuts are my favorite..

2) deep breathing
3) getting away from your source of anxiety.
like since my wife died, I've been anxious in my home so sometimes I'd go out and be with people and then I'm not anxious.
4) serve and focus on others.
5) pray and tell God about it - that should be #1
6) exercise, diet, getting sunlight, getting sleep.

7) pills should be an absolute last resort - but sadly that's the first resort for most people.
