Could this messing with my hair be an OCD?!

Question: sticking hair in my ear begin at age 2ish, i think. I'm now 24. I haven't stopped with sticking it in my ear.
Since I can remember i have twisted my hair.
for the last 5 years? I have been pulling at spilt ends ALL the time! its all i think about when my hair is down, trying to find them and pull them apart. I can't stop doing it. I try really hard not to, but i just can't. its come to a point where my fiance grabs my hands to stop me pulling them. then i get upset and think about that split end I had just saw.
I also have some issues with cleaning. I always have to be wiping stuff and an example: ensure theres no dust at my desk here at work. I feel I just HAVE to clean but I can stop my self most of the time. I'm not thinking this is an ocd.
Could this be an OCD? about 3 years ago i noticed my hearing was worse so i went to the doctor, they said the sticking my hair in my ear was and OCD.
other then trim my hair for the spilt ends, what can I do?
Thanks!

These could be OCD behaviors. I would recommend seeing a counselor. If it is OCD there is treatment which could make your life a whole lot nicer.

Oh yes, it sure sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder!

Not really its just like a habit you know, i play with my hair too i all i do is twirl it and ive been doing it since i was 7 im addicted.

sounds like OCD mixed with trichatillamania (sp?) it is estimated that 3% of OCD suffers also have trichatillamania
