It can basically ruin you. You don't have to be beaten half to death for you to say you're abused. That video was abuse. There's verbal, physical, and emotional abuse. And it's all incredibly hurtful and horrible--", verbal, psychological, and emotional abuse have the same effects as the physical variety"
So...the possible effects that result from abuse:
Depression, panic attacks, low self-esteem/eating disorders, flashbacks/obsessive memories, trust issues, intense feelings of shame/guilt, abandonment issues. Some victims develop PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.)

A real lot. Especially for a child or teen. An adult has the power to leave it or resolve it with action.

definitely
but this woman did what she had to do to protect herself and her children from this monster
hopefully, she will be able to heal

well child who are abused are obviously under extreme prolonged stress

and prolonged stress can cause your hippocampus to shirink.... and you hippocampus is that place that controls learning.... so if u even meet an abused person that is also a slow learner that might be a reason

it can also make u more prone to heart problems and addictions

It changes who you are, permanently. The abuser needs to get some counseling while she gets away fast. Been there, and he is the only man in the world I'm afraid of.

well, abuse affects ones state of mind.
IF SOMEONE IS PHYSICALLY, OR MENTALLY ABUSED,,
they suffer from depression, feelings of despair, hopelessness..
feel like they are a loser, or did something wrong.
or it is their fault because they picked the partner (IN SOME INSTANCES).. and so they feel like "they created this horrible experience/s.

When a person is abused whether it is man woman or child, it can make the outlook grim, and create ideas and thoughts that are harmfull., or nonrealistic..
ABUSE IS A CRIME AGAINST THE "SOUL", and the very spirit of life itself.
It is cruel whether intentional or not, it just hurts,
THIS IS WHAT WILL AFFECT MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL BEING,, UNTIL IT IS RESOLVED.

I'm a victim of domestic violent and thank god i got out.
but i go to therapy. and i have been out for 11 yrs. I always think that I'm doing a bad job at things that i do. and i need security and confidants in everything i do. i hate it
