OCD would mean that you have to clean the clothes and then re-clean them after ALL the lint has gone and then check again 1/2 later in case more lint is there. etc...

All of us have little things that annoy us that we tend to be fastidious about. For it to be OCD it has to litterly take over our lives and get in the way of normal functioning and it will be more than just one thing.

It would drive me crazy if I had lent on my clothes since I'm not Catholic.

my husband is the same way. i just have lint rollers in a couple rooms!

thats not OCD...thats u not wanting cat hair on ur black shirt...who does?? lol

LINT... lol. Not LENT, that's the Catholic season that starts on Wednesday :)

That doesn't sound like OCD, that just sounds like a preferance! TRUST ME, I have diagnosed OCD and it controlled my life and was absolutely terrible and you would know it if you had it! It is a terrible, terrible thing that should not be taken lightly!

On the other hand..... People always think they have mental diseases and get on pills that they really don't need, and that's a huge problem.

Not in the least. It simply indicates that you find lent, cat hair and other unsightly things clinging to your clothing bothersome. And why not? If it would cause you embarrassment at work or on a date then it would certainly bother you when you are alone. If you have to have things a certain way for no logical reason and it interferes with your life, work and relationships, then that could be an indication of OCD.

I would say that is not a compulsion - you just want to be neat in your appearance. I actually have to have the towels that hang in the bathrooms where the tag isn't showing....OCD or just a pet peeve......?

I think we all have issues in different areas but it doesn't make us mentally ill or have some nervous disorder. I think OCD is when the compulsion completely overshadows everything else - I have a friend who's Dad obsessively washes he hands and sprays Lysol around the house among other things.

Keep on brushing.

my friend is the same as u. That's not OCD

I wear black also, and have a white cat!*!*! I can NOT stand when I get hair on me, or any dryer lint or fuzzies. I have more than one lint roller to. I've seriously considered shaving my cat to avoid all the frustration!

i wear a lot of black ,mostly just t shirts though, and i have 9 cats, talk about cat hair! i have those tape rollers and i use them all the time. cat hair is terrible on polyester fleece type stuff!!

thats not OCD its a pet peeve. my friend is the same way, except she'll pick the hairs and lint off of other people. like if im standing there talkint to her she'll pick a small hair off of my sholder (i have pets) or someone else's shirt.

mine, i can't stand it when the zippers on someones backpack are off center. if they are zipped off to the side, i will walk up to them and fix it. i dont have OCD its just a pet peeve of mine and it drives me crazy

that is a problem with wearing black. i have a black cat so it doesn't show up quite so much. and i only change just before i go out so that the clothes are always clean. at home i wear old clothes and pick up the cat all the time.
