Could alcohol propel someone into a manic physicotic episode?!

Question: and if so, if that individual never drank again, would that mean they would never have another episode?

Answers: and if so, if that individual never drank again, would that mean they would never have another episode?

Alcohol is a depressant... I can't see how. I still drank when manic, and while it certainly impaired my judgement and worsened the severity of some of my actions, it was not a trigger.

alcohol can certainly be a trigger, but that doesn't mean there are no other triggers.

All depends on how mmuch they drank, also their mental stability before they even started/finished.

probably, if that person is unbalanced, has a history of mental illness, or is just a plain mean drunk. as for question #2.....never say never, never say always!!!

Alcohol and stress and drugs are the main things that bring out hidden mental illness. You may have a mental illness for years and not know it, because things are inside you. Then bam, you get stressed, or do drugs or drink a lot and mental illness comes to the surface. Unfortunately, stopping drinking or drugs does not stop the illness, but it sure would improves things all around and make a Hugh difference.

Any psychotic chemical can add to the effects of the natural depression chemicals in the brain fluid and make a cocktail strong enough to reach the psychotic level where the auto brain reroutes messages to and from the upper lobes. But if not the alcohol then another chemical will do it . Our own depression imbalanced chemicals can do it if there is a building up of the chemical strength. The spine fluid has no kidney on it for cleaning and the chemicals will last a long time.

generally alcohol would make somebody depressed, not manic..
