Im too scared to be in the house alone?!
Question: everytime my family go out im so scared and get so paranoid someone is going to break in that i normally end up climbing out the window and waiting outside till they get back
iv tried music but i hate that because im worried if someone comes in i wont hear them, same with the tv
iv tried keeping my dog at home (she normally goes out in the car with my parents) but that makes me even more worried because she sits and watches out the door and barks at loads of small things like the next door neighbour and squirrels
i really dont know what to do!! iv just been on the phone to my boyfriend and he doenst know what to do either, i cant run up huge phonebills speaking to him everytime im alone
someone please suggest something, im 18 and this is getting really ridiculous now because i cant be around other people forever
whats made it worse is in the past year my house got broken into (i wasnt there at the time) and also my next door neighbours have got broken into aswell

Since your house did get broken into and your brother actually did get assaulted, it is quite rational for you to be worried. You must do something to increase your security and confidence. Take a class to learn how to defend yourself, get an alarm system or move to a better neighborhood. Get together with your neighbors and organize a watch system so you will be looking out for each other. You have good reason not to be at ease at home in these circumstances. Good Luck
I don't know if this will help, but I just asked kind of the same question. Our home was broken into a week ago, and now we have an alarm system and I'm still afraid to be alone, we live out in the country so we don't have many close neighbors, but I am still scared to take a shower ect...because I think I won't hear anything. I finally just have to turn it over to God, just like after 911, our country finally had to have faith again and get on with our lives, we can't live in fear or we won't live...we can do this!! Just be smart and safe!
