In layman's terms, it's doctor lingo for "well, it's been going on for a while now but we're still not sure exactly what it is or where it's gonna go". The fact is, there are many variations of schizophrenia with some forms more severe than others, and a lot about this disease is just still a total mystery to the scientific community.

Chronic means that youve had the problem long term. and unspecified means that they dont know the exact type of schizophrenia you have, ie, paranoid, disorganized, catatonic...

People with schizophrenia withdraw from the people and activities in the world around them, retreating into an inner world marked by psychosis.

Schizophrenia is a chronic condition, requiring lifelong treatment. But thanks to new medications, schizophrenia symptoms can often be successfully managed, allowing people with the condition to lead productive, enjoyable lives. -
