Are there any links between Aspergers and Down Syndrome?!

Question: For example would a person with Downs have aspergers?

Answers: For example would a person with Downs have aspergers?

No.

It is possible to have both, however.

Aspergers' Syndrome (AS) is on the Autistic Spectrum. It is a form of autism. Sufferers have difficulty forming and maintaining relationships. They often have obsessive interests, and can be compulsive. They frequently notice or record minor details in everyday life.

I have AS, and it doesn't stop me living a full life. But I have only a handfull of close friends. They are supportive, and understanding of my 'ways'.

Detective Robert Goren on 'Law & Order, criminal intent' is a charecter written with Aspergers. He is very like me.

No, they are distinct and different disorders, in fact Down's Syndrome people have very affectionate natures, whereas Aspergers people find it hard to understand or express emotion

I know someone with downs who has autism which is related to AS so it's possible to have more than one condition, although no medical evidence I'm aware of to directly link them.

There is no direct genetic link between Downs syndrome and Asperger syndrome but it is possible to have both conditions.
