Wellbutrin is often more activating than others, but it really depends. Many antidepressants are activating in some people and sedating in another - it is hard to rpedict. Wellbutrin has fewer sexual side effects (mostly an issue for men) and may help restore the ability to enjoy things more than other drugs (because it elevates dopamine, the enjoyment neurotransmitter). However, anything that relieves the underlying depression can restore energy, enjoyment, etc. Get treated and, if after a few months you are not where you need to be, try something new. Keep the doc involved - if they don't know what is happening, they cannot help.

Nope. I couldn't even tell I was taking it.

Sweetyyy quit taking that.. I mean >> i'm no doctor, but my friend is all hooked up on a bunch of anti-depressants and I feel bad for her because she can't function without them. It's been around 4 years... Just try to take vitamins or something else... I'm sorry to be all in your business, but just giving my opinion...

I have tried about 30 antidepressants with either adverse side affects, the opposite reaction or even an allergic reaction. I was on Wellbutrin and it was the only one that I didn't have any side effects from. I was taken off of it because I had a severely painful abscessed tooth and was on Tylenol #3. I wound up in the hospital but they couldn't determine which med it interacted with , so they took me off of it. It is worth a try with monitoring from a doctor. Ask your doctor and I wish you well. Wellbutrin was supposed to help with quitting smoking, but I am a smoker and it didn't work for that for me. You may want your doctor to test you to rule out any physical ailments or reasons first. It's always a good idea to do that.
