Is this weird or normal?!

Question: I went to the doctor on Monday last week and my mom was talking to my doctor. Normal, regular doctor. I walked out of the room for maybe 5 minutes to go use the bathroom and came back in. I have problems with death, sometimes it scares me thinking about not breathing, and so she said something about it. My doctor looked awkward and uncomfortable after she said this. Is this weird and why did he do that if he is supposed to be able for you to talk to him about this?

sounds like your doctor is not very good, because you are normal and it is normal for people to be afraid of death, it is by nature a very scary thing, but there is more to you fear than just plain fear, so dont worry about your doctor's reaction he obviously missed a class or two.

well i dont think its weird im scared to think about not breathing either and stuff i dont kno why he looked concerned maybe she was realy dramattic about it or something but good luck! =)

It sounds like you have anxiety. Perhaps the Dr isn't comfortable with these kinds of problems. Maybe he didn't realize he was looking awkward and uncomfortable. Doctor or not, some people have trouble dealing with anxiety or other mental illnesses.

being a doctor you should bring up anything and talk about anything to him/her without getting any looks of weirdness from them at all.if they are concerned or feel that there should be further help needed then they should talk with you and refer you to someone who could have helped you with your concerns.if it was me and my daughter it would have put up a red flag for me about his ethics

You didn't say your age, however that shouldn't be the true issue. It sounds like your doctor just may not be comfortable in the role of counselor. Doctors are just human and have personal preferences about what they're comfortable with. If you need answers or just want to talk to someone about death and dying you should ask to speak to a counselor or ask your mother to find some resources for you. What about the library or the internet? Fears about death/dying are not uncommon. Good luck finding the answers your need; I hope you will not stop asking until you find out what you need to know. If it is fear of what happens after death speak to a counselor or spiritual advisor.
