Psychological states after overcoming a longterm drug addiction...?!

Question: Is it normal to become overly positive/constructive for a while, as you sort out all the things you haven't dealt with in years? Do some people become overachievers because they feel like they've wasted so much time? Can this be harmful to them? Or to a good world (family/career) around them that is suddenly not "enough" anymore?

Physically quitting the drug was easy (for me it was marijuana from the age of 10 until 24 yo) , but 2 years later is it normal for psychological issues to surface?

you have an active mind. pot used to calm and mellow you out. a large percentage of people who ar daily pot smokers have anxiety problems. you quit smoking pot and now you possibly can't sit still. your very active and that is good therapy. usually when someone quits an addiction they need to fill the time more productively and they also should excercise or get a hobby to channel all the anxious energy that usually goes with not being addicted to something calming anymore. well you found a way to keep busy with your working on constructive projects to occupy your time. your a great example of what to do after quitting an addiction.

sounds like you may be avoiding issues by being so posiive and proactive. are you in therapy? maybe time to get there!
