I suffer from anxiety. Remedies? Please help?!

Question: I get anxious and incredibly nervous before fairly big events like driving tests, and then over silly things like talking to a teacher. I get anxious incase I mess my words up when talking, but mostly I get those twisting feelings in my stomach and chest. I never used to feel like this - mainly for the past year or so. Being so nervous is really getting me down. Does anyone have any techniques that can help me calm down when I'm at my highest level of anxiety? Unfortunately, despite help I still suffer from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) which I know doesn't help. Any remedies you've used which worked? Thanks to all helpful answers in advance.

Bach's Rescue Remedy is good for anxiety/stress. Try taking it before you have something important or big coming up. It really helps and is a natural stress reliever. Hope this helps some :)

i suffer panic attacks, i feel your pain. ask your doctor about medication, my sister believe it or not suffers them too, but refuses medication. she does yoga and it has done wonders for her. yoga is so not me...i tried it, i hated it. good luck!

Passionflower tea is a really good herbal remedy, just dont use it if you are taking a prescription drug for anxiety because it can interact harmfully. If you are on a prescription for anxiety talk to the doc.

If you want to go the natural route, your best bets are exercise, meditation, and controlled breathing.
If not, you could go to a therapist and possibly go on medication. My boyfriend had severe OCD and he was put on Paxil and Klonopin, and he feels so much better now.

I have minor anxiety problems and i found out that exercise works to calm me down. I know it sounds weird but if I were you I would work out for about 30 minutes before a class or event its weird but for some reason it makes me feel more relaxed also if this problem worsens I would go to a doctor
