A symptom of depression is being irritable you may still be suffering from depression. You said you are having a lot of problems just now so it will be natural for you to feel irritable and stressed just now. The checking what every noise is and if you don't you feel uneasy could be curiosity and might not be harmful if it makes you feel better but if it gets out of control and u keep checking again and even after u've checked still feel uneasy this could be symotoms of ocd

You are probably mad at something else and are using that to vent or as an excuse. I also get mad at them when I'm focused on something, it's really not their fault, the noises come from people/things living, and they have that right (basically, I don't want someone screaming at me for making any little noise), but every little thing starts to bother you when you are in a certain mood or have some problems (at least it has with me).

I guess it's up to you change your view and be compassionate that things have to go on around you.

Used to happen to me ALL the time. Couldn't figure out why... it happened at random times. Things also seemed "too slow" for lack of a better explanation.

When you are under a lot of stress, you can be very irate.

Calm down.

Don't be so angry.

They are just noises, they aren't doing anything to you.

Do things that make you happy and relaxed and try not to get so agro, its not good for you.

Deep breathe and try some ear plugs; I'm not even being sarcastic!

I think you have developed a sensitivity because of your depression. When you are stressed the brain presses the alarm button and interprets hard sounds or strong light as danger. Depression might also develop tinnitus! This sensitivity you seem to have will probably remain and what you can do is to learn to relax. Mindfullnesspractising, qi gong, thai chi and yoga can help. It can also be that your problem is caused by some physiological disorder. Talk to an ear-specialist about it. Good Luck!
