the only thing i've ever found that works is working out, running, physical activity. but honestly when i stress the most, i don't feel like trying anything and so i'm sure there are other stress relieving activities out there that work
Going to the gym and getting on the treadmill or elliptical for 30 minutes then working out for another hour. Afterwards, getting into the sauna and taking a cold shower. You will be stress free after that.
My preferred method comes from the lyrics of an old country song, "lets get drunk and screw."
I use meditation or a short nap for relief after a stressful day, meditation preferably. If it's angry stress, I do a heavy workout to get all the adrenaline out of my system.
