I got a rash from lamictal. Rashes usually occur with 2-8 weeks of starting the med. Mine occurred on the 2nd day I took it, but I was taking it in combination with Depakote, and this was before they had the lower dose Depakote starter pack.

The rash is a blistering, peeling, red, itchy rash. It can form anywhere on your body. It appeared on the palms of my hands and soles of my feet as small red, itchy bumps initially.

About 1 in 10 develop a non-fatal rash from lamictal. About 1-1000 develop the deadly kind.

The bottom line is, if you are concerned you should call your prescribing physician. He or she may or may not take you off it. There are a lot of causes for itching. In my case, the rash appeared simultaneously with the itching.

I take it and it has not had that side effect on me. You may want to ask your pharmacist or doctor, since each individual reacts differently.

Call your doctor, immediately.

Although your itching is not intense, it could very well get that way. I have a friend whose Lamictal rash started off slow, but eventually became terrible.

Better safe than sorry!

be very worried itching is a side of a dangerous side effect called stephens johnson disease. Go to the DR. NOW!!!

Call your doctor and discuss this with him/her today.
If he/she says not to worry, there are other reasons why you could be itchy. You could have dry skin. Sometimes a thyroid problem could cause itching.
You could call your PCP if the itching continues.
