Yes, it can be stressful funding expensive prescription drugs. You do have to consider the quality of your life without those drugs.
I'm on Zoloft. It doesn't knock me out; I am still fully capable of appreciating the seriousness of situations. What it does give me is the reserve not to "lose it" for stuff that I would have once found unbearable.

Well...first of all its not good to be taking anti-anxiety and anti-depressants. They are really like medicine to knock you out so you wont feel a thing and you wont be thinking about watever has you worried. Their more like drugs to get rid of the inner pain your having for a while. If you really need help try to go to counseling. Try to stay way from medicine as much as you can.
I'm gonna tell you something that hillary clinton won't tell you. go to any shrink and they will give you a form to fill out from the big drug companies. if you can't afford medication then the big drug companies will approve you for free pills. and most states through their human services department will offer you free or next to free shrink help. i went a long time ago and my shrink only cost me 6 bucs a visit. and he had this huge cabinet filled with sample pills from the drug companies. he gave me months worth of the good stuff for nix,nada,zilch, zero. help is there, look for it if you need it.
Ok, I dont know why anyone who has never experienced anti-depressants would say that they are something to knock you out and hide your inner pain. They aren't and if you find the right one they are VERY effective. They could possibly be a life-saver. I do agree that therapy helps too, but it, like medicine just isn't affordable for some people. My pills are about $75 per month and thats with my insurance!! My mom helps me pay for them because right now I have got to have them. I think that there should be a solution for drugs like that. You can always get the generic form, but from my experience, the generic is not as effective as the real thing. I dont care what anyone says!
There are options that are open to you, contact the company that makes your medications and see if they can help you. They are doing that much more now, you might also ask your doctor if they can perscribe a generic brand that will accomplish the same thing at less than half the price. The other options that you have are contacting a hospital where there is a pharmacy and see if they can give you the medications at a lower price as they buy in bulk. Also try Wal-Marts if they are near you, a lot of their medications can be had for four dollars. Check the various options and see if you can't find one that works for you.
I agree.Wal-Mart has cheap meds though for people.They really have everything you need;)
