Is it possible to find ways to effectively manage ADHD without meds or counselin!

Question: Yes, it is possible. My oldest daughter had severe issues with ADHD and acting out. No one wanted that child at their house. She only slept for 25 minute incriments when she was a baby, and as she got older it became even more difficult.
Then, I found a book by Dr. Fienstein called "Why is your child hyperactive". It changed our lives. It explains how eliminating artificial colors and flavors as well as some foods, (which contain salicylates) you can eliminate most of the obvious side effects of ADHD.
Today my child is a joy to be around. She has excelled in all subjects in school and has lots of friends.
Please do yourself a favor and check this book out of the library. It is amazing. By following a few simple steps, you will see excellent results in less than 2 weeks.
Good luck to you.

I don't think so, if there was, I would definitely be doing it.

I've seen a countless number of doctors about my ADHD because even most meds don't even work. Counseling won't help with concentration, but it may help with frustration.

Aderall is a medication that I found to be the most effective for me. Obvioulsy it doesn't make me concentrate like theres no tomorrow, but it definitley helps (me at least). I would'nt ever reccommend Concertta. I thought it was just me, but the more people I talked to who were taking it said they got so depressed while they were on it they got suicidal (as did I).

yes do something that you are interested in

doin things that would keep the mind focused and concetrated on somethin could help out, so like not watching t.v. anymore or doing somethin that causes no thinkin at all would make it worse. reading a book would be somethin good to do.

Is there a way to not use OIL in your car and not need to do yearly checkups on it???? The answer is no..

You have the type of body metabolism that requires your meds and counseling to keep you level.

Take care of you!!! You are worth it...

Yes....a combination of a very healthy diet...and FOCUS...FOCUS...FOCUS

I don't know. I'm going to the doc today about the same thing!

YES!!! Keeping your mind occupied really helps. Doing things that really interest you.

What helped me was getting involve with organizations that help other people that's fun.

1. Sports
2. Recreation
3. YMCA'S
4. Neighborhood Activities

Well...

A med for ADHD only works for some of those with ADHD, not all.

Counseling helps some with ADHD, not all.

Is it possible to perhaps improve a person's ability to manage ADHD a little? Yes.

There are no easy answers to ADHD for everyone. Good luck.
