Well, you could turn on the t.v, or buy a night light. Or try and plan out your day tomorrow. Or try counting sheep.lol.

if i cant sleep i just listen to music

buy a dog

sleeping pills

Think about someone you admire in school and hug a pillow. It works!

well..sorry about your situation

but, if i were you
i would get a book
and read it in bed
you'll fall asleep before you know it
[esp if it's not that interesting]

You need a night-time routine. Don't take any naps during the day; that will help you be tired enough to go to sleep. Put on some music and relax. It sounds to me like your so tense about not sleeping that your setting yourself up for one sleepless night after another. It sounds to me like your mom is also really tired too. Look, even if your not a religious person prayer or meditation really help a lot of people relax. Try either and see what works for you.

headphones possibly... try tylenol pm or advil pm thats what works for me. eventually (like after 3 months) they stop working so you switch to the other until it doesent work. take them 2 hours before bed. also try benadryl caplets, chamomile tea, over the counter sleep aids, etc. these are all things that help me.

Hope I helped

Do some exercises before you go to bed. Getting a dog is also a good idea because he will sleep near you and will be alerted only to unusual sounds. He will become accustomed to the normal house noises that you say your house makes at night.
How old are you and why are you so paranoid. You should be feeling safe in your own home and especially in your own room.

Stay up all night one night and when sounds happen get up and investigate what it is, where it's coming from, etc.... The more you know about the sounds you should expect, the more you'll notice them as normal. And if a sound does happen that shouldn't, you'll know it shouldn't be there. Just watch, in a few months you won't be able to sleep without those sounds present.

well for you to sleep, you need to address the source of your lack of sleep, recognising it is not enough. And how do you do this, by beliving in the God in you, you must know that as a child of God, that no power has the right to deny you your sleep unless you invite them. So since you want to sleep, all you need to do is, prayerfully command whomever or whatever that makes the noise to leave, you have the right becasue is your house, and anything or anyone that comes uninvited is a stranger. But if you don't have the faith for that, just invite your Pastor, that is if you are a christain and goes to church, so that he will come and pray in your house.
