How to Repress Laughter?!

Question: Even among the most stressful situations (e.g. presentation, talking to a teacher) I have trouble preventing myself from laughing uncontrollably if there's something funny on my mind. Any good methods to overcome this? Thanks.

Hm... here's something to think about. Salvador Dali (painter; if you don't know his work you should look it up) was an utter genius in every sense of the word. I read his Autobiography a year or so ago, and apparently in his teens/20's he had that exact same problem. He would FREQUENTLY break into laughing fits at the strangest times and never be able to tell anyone what was SOO funny, or when he would try they would just stare dumbly. So... read that book, he explains how he overcame it I think, and enjoy your mark of genius.

what i do to counter laughter is pain, pinch yourself real hard

To prevent laughter from rising i try thinking depressing thoughts.

No don't repress or suppress laughter.......laugh as much as you want.......live as long as you desire

if you try to physically supress it, you may end up farting or blowing boogies out of your nose....

the best way is to do deep breathing exercises - totally focusing on following your breath in and out of your body. it has a calming effect and the extra oxygen will help clarify your thought processes, thereby boosting your confidence.

do the exercises as a regular practice and you will see a nice decrease in your nervousness...

Well I always thought of all the people that gave there lives so we can be safe, it may be a military thing but I was in the Marines so it is a sad subject...try it it might work

Share.......so everyone will have a good laugh.
