pretend nobodies there.
don't think you Have TO MAKE IT PERFECT.
because nothing is perfect.
don't feel that ur stressed by anyone, when they're not at least.
picture urself in a soft cloud alone with ur favorite things.

Serious: Picturing no one there.
Act like your talking to a person.
Dont make a speech long.

Funny: And maybe picture someone naked.

The only thing you can do is just practice. It gets easier over time but it takes work.

Talk with a group of ten then add 5 more until you comtable also never picture in their underwear!

you literally have to FACE it head on! Get a bunch of family and friends together and read something in front of them. Just remember, you can always look to the back of the room... You don't have to look in their eyes.

I was a comunications major and always had a fear of this. I solved it by volunteering to go first or as soon as I possibly good. then I did the best preperation I could, then I could relax after. your town has to have public speaking courses in your area. check out the local schools and colleges!

PS I got a B in public speaking..

The only cure for anxiety is to be prepared. The more you prepare and know what you are going to say, the more confident that you will be on stage.

Action cures fear. So just do it. But remember to speak slower than normal and slow your breathing.

imagine them with there pants off...stare at the paper the whole time or umm close your eyes lol

Well i usually meditate... Just sit down or lay down and take in deep breathes in and out. It really helps me

Practice in front of close friends. Or suck it up, like I do heehee. "Break a leg!"

I still am scared about speaking inforont of people
but if you know what your saying and doing there is no need to be.
you have to stay calm and just act like you are confident. If you show you are scarred then it will show.
Just think of an easy way to keep your mind off of it. When the time comes, it will be a natural response.

Toatmasters is a group that excels at overcoming the problem. I do not know how old you are, but you might call the local branch and see if they have something that fits you.

pretend, there is only one person out there. pretend it's a really close friend. (someone nice) by any chance, is this for school committee or president?

you dont...there's really no magical exersise...you just gotta practice and grow out of it...

Just say to yourself im gonna do this if i fail i fail so im gonna try ( just think this to yourself,I have to public at school, church, and had to read to a class of kindergartens when i was in 1st grade)

If you've never spoken publicly before then it's not going to be easy. There is no way to cure nervousness but to do it over and over. I took a course in public speaking and I got over the nervousness only after doing it 6-7 times.

The only advice i can give you, if you plan on making a speech is to take the time to plan out what you want to say and put it on index cards. practice your speech over and over and watch yourself in the mirror. you don't want to read off the cards so make sure you memorize what you want to say and only look down for reference if you forget your place. Also while standing up there look out at the audience and I've found that you can look at everyones foreheads instead of in their eyes, you won't notice people staring at you but it will appear as if you are looking into their eyes.

There is loads of information on the net about this I typed in fear of public speaking and lots of stuff came up including this

do a search and you will find lots help and tips.

here is one example.

Be prepared. The more practiced you are and the better you know your material, the less stress you are likely to feel when presenting it. Practice to friends and family. Practice to a tape recorder and then listen for possible improvements you could make. Give your speech to yourself in front of a mirror and notice your hands, head and facial expressions. Be sure to practice out loud.

Be realistic. What
