Ugh, i feel like shi*t .... can you help?!


Question: i feel so bad all the time, i am frequently crying, or getting upset at the littlest things. many, many people call me "emo" but i just cant fit myself into that catagory. yes i where a lot of black, i where a lot of eyeliner, i am a girl so the eyeliner is not that big of a deal, but i am always in such a bad mood. i have also intentionally cut myself before. i used to do it a lot more often than i do now, but i still do. ......... would you consider this emo? .........

No! You're not emo!
How the hell can anyone expect you to be able to fit your whole life, you're whole being, into one simple word?
It's so stupid.
I hate being labeled (which I am all the time). I'm called emo, punk, goth... It's so annoying.
People are like 'Are you emo, or what?' and I'm like 'No, I'm Emily' (that's my name, lol).
I feel exactly the way you feel. People throw stuff at me in the street and call me names because apparently, I'm emo.
I don't really know how to help you, as I don't know how to help myself... but I suggest trying to stop cutting yourself as it only makes things worse (I've been trying to give up.. haven't cut myself in weeks..)
It doesn't matter if you wear black.. you're being yourself, good for you =]

There are mental disorders that cause that type of behavior. Having people label you "Emo" does not help. You should seek professional help.

well try to be more outgoing, emo people are usually quiet and depressing people but if your outgoing nobody would think your emo

This isnt emo this is depression and cutting. You need to see a doctor this a treatable with medications. How old are you? Cutting is never healthy and can lead to major infections and health issues. There can be other issues at hand here including a chemical imbalance causeing the depression but to find out you need to see a doctor. Let your parents know how you feel. Good luck

sorry to say but yah you need help

Forget your being or not being emo. You should ask for help from someone who knows how to handle that. Like a doctor for example. He knows how to advise you to get over your depression.

If you dont feel like an emo, then your not. Emo is just a lable its not who someone is.

I think if you tried dressing more colourful and got rid of the black make up, it might make you feel more up-lifted. Force yourself to get out and do things, you may enjoy yourself.

If you feel its really bad, see the doctor. You may have depression or your depression-like mood may be caused by something physical eg; Iron deficiancy.

Look on the bright side of life.

There is a daft ad around at the moment, cant remember what is is for, but is says we have all beaten a million+ already, simply to be born. Seems a shame to spoil the chances and possibilities of a million+ possible others simply to attempt to fit into a category.

Chemically, ya bound to feel like **** ... that's life, it stops. Be ya'self and find out who you are, not how to fit into someone else's box.

You want to wear black make-up, why not. You want to paint your face pink and scream the last Poem you were told ... go for it. Neither make YOU, that only you know and you keep it locked away for most of the time. We are all different, unique ... even in the UK that would mean 62 million categories.

(Think of yourself simply (as a daft example) as a tree. A sapling still learning how to see the light (often shaded by other saplings wanting all the light) at the right time to grow. In time you will see everything as others start to thin out. Your time is coming, like most things in life, patience is everything.)

It's either Emo, or like many young females, you think too much.

No, seriously, I heard a psychologist comparing teen girls to teen boys, and while the boys are hanging around playing video games and shooting paint-balls at each other and generally having fun, the girls are sitting around commiserating, identifying with Emo, and getting zero exercise or any other fun activity.

Your dr can help. You need to exercise....even if you don't feel like it. One of my friends who is now 18 took an antidepressant for 6 mo. I have been taking one for over 3 yrs. Hope you feel better soon.....

Your not emo babe. You sound like your depressed and struggling a bit with life just now. Thing's can get better though. Your probably sick of reading this but you need to talk with someone, even if it's just a friend or an adult you can trust.I'm glad to hear you don't cut yourself as often as you used to that's an improvement and you should be so proud of yourself for that. Think to yourself you've cut down on it now so why can't you do that again. Find other ways to cope when you are feeling like harming yourself. Some ways I have found helpful is reading, listening to music, writing down everything in my head, going for a bath, holding ice in my hands till it melts there are many more and you just need to try them all till you find what works for you. good luck babe stay strong and take care of yourself xx

these symptoms seem quite depressing, which must mean you have something to do with depression! do you have a passion? a favourite sport, hobby, instrument, subject at school? I am a personal believer that motivation tops all else. so you could try channelling your unhappiness into your favourite thing to do, build on it, get really good. find something that will take your mind off things, something you love more than a lot of things.
don't get into drugs and drinking, it'll just drag you lower.
you could go see a doc, ask about some medics that may help you. get some happy friends at school, and use them at school. hang out with a crowd (or few people) who will be a lighter influence on you, and a good influence on you. it may seem like i'm telling you to follow the crowd (i am), but don't we all?
emo's a genre of music.
if you want to feel bad about yourself and other stuff, get yourself mucked up.

otherwise...
always wake up and expect life to be hard. that way, when good things happen, you'll appreciate them better. but that doesn't give you an excuse to have a pessimistic approach towards life. Don't forget your smile! someone's falling in love with it. lawl! way cheesy go me
